MBFA Releases its 2017 End of Year Report and Foreword by Executive Chair, Mayor Steve Benjamin

On Monday, January 29th, the Municipal Bonds for America (MBFA) Coalition held a reception for Members of Congress and their staff to thank them for their support of maintaining the tax-exempt status of municipal bonds in the recently passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. We were honored to have hosted the co-chairs of the Congressional Municipal Finance Caucus, Reps. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD) and Randy Hultgren (R-IL), members of the MBFA’s Executive and Technical Advisory Committees, and other industry participants.

The reception was a wonderful way to bookend a very productive 2017 for the Coalition, which increased its membership, strengthened its efforts to protect the tax-exemption for municipal bonds when it mattered most, and carried out an effective advocacy campaign with the help and support of countless individuals and organizations in Washington and across the country.

For that reason, we are happy to share with you the MBFA’s 2017 End of Year Report, which highlights the activities, growth, and achievements that we accomplished together this past year.

Thank you,

Justin Underwood
Director – MBFA Coalition
